Rack mount

Ooo, rack mount. :D

Round trip

OK, dancing! Woo! :D

So most of our dance class was focused on exams. Or, as Debbie put it, medals! (Hmm, I like the sound of that…) First, there’s the requirements. For the Bronze medal, you have to dance the Panic Routine. Well I can do that in my sleep, so that’s fine. For the Silver, it seems that all you have to do is dance the Panic Routine plus one extra move. Any move, it doesn’t matter. And for the Gold, you have to have two extra moves. (What, that’s it?)

The Summer Dance

Ah yes, the highlight of the entire year! (At least, until the Christmas dance happens right at the end of the year.) It’s that time again. Saturday the 5th of June saw me at the annual Summer Dance. Steve began the proceedings by saying “There are two things for certain: it’s going to be a lot of fun, and it’s going to be very hot!” He was right on both counts!

Having survived Friday night, and feeling better is Saturday progressed, I was determined to go. By the time I left home, I actually left pretty much fine.

A dance recap

So I haven’t been blogging much lately. Rest assured, the dancing has still been happening!

First there was the Ballroom & Latin class on Friday 28th April. I got to dance the whole evening with the lovely Lois, which was really nice. It feels so good to have a decent partner to dance with! We spent most of the evening working on that new figure in the Rumba (which is apparently called Turkish Towel, not Turkish Town). Lois not being present last time seemed a little confused by this one. But hey, so am I!

Bad times

So I visited my dad on Monday, largely because it was his birthday. We ended up on a father and son expedition to the outer reaches of his loft. We found some pretty far-out stuff up there. Capacitors the size of soda cans. Gas cylinders. Random pipework. Aluminium powder.

I noticed I had a slightly sore throat. Like I’d been shouting a bit or something. Random. Oh well, never mind.

By the evening, it was quite an unconfortably sore throat. I didn’t get much sleep at all. And next morning, it was really burning. I spent all of Tuesday sat at home feeling miserable.

Back again

Well, I’m back at work today. 206 unread emails (plus 9 emails [correctly] classified as junk). Woo, me. :(
