Pratchet

You know, every time I see a Terry Pratchet quote, I always end up feeling deeply glad I’ve never read any of his works. Take this, for example:

“Give a man a fire and he’s warm for a day. But set fire to him and he’s warm for the rest of his life.”

…OK, I am now officially depressed! :-(

Project Delta

Project Delta has been initiated.

Stand by…

Sunday ≠ Fun Day

Well what an amusing Sunday that was! If by “amusing” you mean “not amusing at all” anyway.

Having been up all night, I got dragged out of bed at 10:33 AM by my mother demanding that I help her rearrange large parts of the building in order to recover the component parts of my sister’s bedframe that have been stashed in strange places. (Well our house can barely contain all of our stuff, never mind a bedframe that’s over 6 feet in length!) When we finished moving furnature and dragging heavy loads up and down stairs, it was time to load it all into my car.

POVers of the world, unite!

…or rather, four of us hang out in a pub for a few hours.

So I left my house at about 3 PM. It cost me £13 to get a return ticket to London Euston. Stood around on the platform for a while until a train turned up. At least it was sunny! The train was fairly empty, and didn’t stop at that many stations, so it didn’t take too long to bring me to Euston. (I think I arrived a little after 4 PM.) I then took the underground to Goodgie Street — at least, once I finished navigating the labarynth of tunnels and stairways underground to find he correct platform! Fortunately there was an usher there to direct people. [Apparently the Victoria Line is shut, leading to a lot of confusion.]

The hair [still]

OK, so to those of you who missed it, today I am wearing The Hair to work. It’s not quite as good as last time, but it doesn’t look too bad. And it is not going anywhere in a hurry! No sir! ;-)

It’s quite funny actually. Some people see me and instantly go “…oh!” And other people don’t even blink, and appear not to notice at all. (Hey, my nickname says “invisible”!) The people I’ve spoken to seem to like it. I’m not completely sure whether they’re sincere. I doubt it’s ever something I’ll do very often. But it makes a change now and then. (When I told the guy I was doing this, he said “ah mate, you’re a legend! It’ll bring you luck, and get you laid.” Yeah, well… whatever! I just think it makes a change.)

It does create one or two practical problems though. I have to sit funny in my car to not rub my head on the roof. And just now, I thought about using my Vorbis player for a little while… and then remembered that my headphones won’t fit with this bizzario hairdo. Oh well!

Join Facebook

Well, I have no idea what Facebook is, but due to my friend’s insistence, I now have an account. (With a pseudonym instead of my real name. Which is confusing the hell out of everybody, so now I’m trying to get it changed to my real name. *sigh*)

Obligatory XKCD reference.

Really random fact: When I got there, I already had a friend request. (From a guy I knew at uni.) WTF?

The hair

OK, so enough people have said they liked the spikey hair that I’m actually secumbing to the idea of trying to recreate the effect.
