About a month ago, they added a first floor to the empty metal shell of the building. About 3 weeks ago, they added brick walls round the outside. It’s surprising just how much more solid the building looks with a few bricks sticked round the outside; there’s still nothing inside except a few support beams. On Friday, they started putting glass in the windows.

I’ve got a plan on the building on my desk. It’s designed for printing at A0 size (!), but I just printed it at A3, which is as large as our printer will go. I went over it with a marker pen and marked all the network ports. It looks like a Christmas tree! Stupid thing is, there’s probably still going to be some place where we don’t have enough…

It appears it’s not only Stourport that has a problem with stupid decisions being made…

I see from the local newspaper that somebody has decided to abandon the Milton Keynes grid system and turn one of the city’s major arteries into a residential street — starting by installing 7 sets of traffic lights.

In spite of this plan being utterly ridiculous, the council is currently “considering” the plans. (Rather than, say, laughing the developers out of the door when they proposed this stupid idea.)

Testing is now complete. Woooo!!

I spent most of Saturday at work playing with RAID arrays. That concludes the final test in the test plan. Now “all” I have to do is write the final test report and we’re done. Yay!

…and in a few months, we’ll move site, and I’ll have to rewrite the whole recovery procedure, write a brand new test plan and start all over again.

Well, I just added a whole bunch of new products to my Zazzle gallery. Of course, when I say “new” I really mean I took some existing images and put them onto new types of products.

First of all, there’s my fractal calendar, which gives you a different trippy fractal for each month of the year. I am seriously debating buying myself one for next year!

Second, there’s an entire category of crazy ties! Would you turn up to the office with one of these?
